Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Odds of One collects, how it is used and the choices you have.
Last updated: 22 October 2026
Summary
- You do not need an account, and we never ask for your name.
- The calculators run in your browser. We do not store the answers you enter.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and Google advertising to keep the tools free. Both use cookies.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before non-essential cookies are set.
Information you enter in the calculators
The calculators work out results on your device. The values you choose are not sent to us to be stored, and they are not linked to you. When you view or share a result, your selections are placed in the page address (the URL) so that the result can be displayed and shared. Like any page address, it may appear in your browser history, in our hosting provider's standard server logs and in the analytics described below. The selections are general preferences, such as an age range, and do not identify you.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider and the services below receive standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, the page that referred you and the date and time of your visit.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them for three purposes:
- Essential: remembering your cookie consent choice.
- Analytics: measuring visits and how the tools are used, through Google Analytics.
- Advertising: serving and measuring ads, through Google and its partners.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies does not stop the calculators from working.
Advertising and Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google in Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of personalized advertising from many third-party vendors at aboutads.info and, in the EU, at youronlinechoices.eu. If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you.
To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are visited, how people arrive at the site and how the tools are used. This helps us fix problems and improve content. Google Analytics reports are aggregated and do not tell us who you are. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting data about you with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent banner from a Google-certified consent management platform asks for your choices before analytics and advertising cookies are used. You can change your choices at any time through the privacy settings link that the banner provides. Where we rely on consent, that is our legal basis for processing. Where we use essential cookies or keep server logs for security, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws may have the right to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Because we hold almost no personal data ourselves, most requests are best handled through the opt-out tools above, but you can always contact us at hello@oddsofone.com and we will help.
Data retention
We do not keep a database of visitors or calculator answers. Data collected by Google Analytics is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, which is no longer than 14 months. Server logs kept by our hosting provider are retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
Children
This site is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Links to other sites
We link to the government agencies whose data we use and to other sites. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
